Abstract

This document is Asif Sharif's own chronological record of interventions in Pakistani agriculture, spanning 1973 to 2023 and still ongoing. It is presented here as the primary evidentiary record behind PQNK's claim to legitimacy: not a journal citation, which a captured peer-review system tied to conventional input industries has little incentive to publish, but five decades of documented, dated, farmer-verified field intervention.

The 1973–2001 period covers the foundation of much of Pakistan's mechanized agriculture: imported farm implements, the Deltapine cotton variety that lifted regional seed-cotton yields threefold, the Australian sugarcane system adapted for Jhang's sugar mills, national distributorships for Ford, Massey Ferguson, New Holland and Case IH machinery, Pioneer Seed Company's establishment in Sahiwal, and laser-levelling and bulk grain storage systems introduced nationally. The record is candid that this work built the conventional, input-intensive system PQNK later set out to replace, including a 1995 encounter with BT soil bacteria and bollworm-resistant cotton seed in the United States that first sparked the ecological curiosity behind PQNK.

2002 to 2008 covers years of institutional resistance that interrupted the work, followed by a 2007 new beginning and the founding of FarmAll Technology. The record treats this period as the direct origin of PQNK's conceptual break rather than a gap to omit: reflection during that interruption, combined with the earlier BT-bacteria discovery, led to a 2008 field study of the Amazon rainforest, which identified four practices in conventional agriculture, soil inundation, tillage, bare soil, and monocropping, as the actual points of disconnection from how natural ecosystems sustain fertility without depleting resources.

That realization was first applied in 2008 on a 44-acre rice field: moist-soil raised beds in place of flooding, a purpose-built dry-soil transplanter, and a precision weeder-aerator in place of herbicide, saving at least 70% of water and other inputs. The process was named Paradoxical Agriculture, then renamed PQNK (Paedar Qudratti Nizam Kashatqari), and presented at the 2011 International Rice Congress in Hanoi. From there the record documents crop-by-crop expansion across wheat, cotton, corn, potato, sugarcane, garlic and onion, small-seed vegetables, citrus and mango orchards, guava, banana and papaya, dairy and fodder, peanuts, and specialty crops including chillies, tomato, ginger and grapes, alongside the One Acre Prosperity smallholder model and flood and aquifer water-management applications, each with reported yield, cost and water-use figures from PQNK's own field record.

The document closes by stating the scale of the evidentiary base behind these claims: 130,000 documented farmer testimonies, held as 80,000 photographs and 50,000 videos, with continuing messages across email, WhatsApp, YouTube, Twitter and Instagram, a Facebook page reach of over ten million, and a book launch in December 2023 hosted by Syed Babar Ali, Chairman of LUMS. It positions this ground-up, farmer-verified record, built and replicated acre by acre rather than approved by institutional gatekeepers, as PQNK's core claim to credibility.
