About Pedaver
Pedaver is the independent knowledge, research and validation institution behind PQNK, the natural ecosystem science of production agriculture, built around one core conviction: conventional agriculture's input-heavy model is ecologically, economically and nutritionally unsustainable, and there is a better way. Field-tested across Pakistan's diverse growing regions in Food, Feed, Fiber and Timber production, the system is built to apply just as widely: across different soils, climates, crops and production scales.
What We Do
Knowledge & Research
Developing and documenting PQNK's scientific foundations through field observation, experimentation and accumulated production experience.
PQNK Training
Transferring PQNK principles, practices and operating knowledge to farmers, operators and institutions.
System & Engineering Development
Developing production systems, field engineering and machinery that let agriculture operate within natural ecosystem principles.
Implementation Support
Helping independent producers and organisations understand, establish and correctly operate PQNK systems, without Pedaver becoming the commercial producer or trader.
PQNK Validation
Independently evaluating PQNK implementation and produce against the system's biological, environmental, production and quality standards.
Pedaver develops the knowledge, engineering concepts, training and validation behind PQNK. It does not operate commercial crop production or trading directly: that implementation belongs to independent operators such as CPMC-type organisations, with Pedaver remaining the science, training and validation authority behind the system. Institutions and businesses seeking direct engagement can review Pedaver's services.
The Science Behind PQNK
Asif Sharif
PQNK has been developed through more than five decades of agricultural practice, observation, experimentation and engineering led by Asif Sharif.
His work documents the biological and engineering foundations of PQNK: living soil, root–microbe relationships, soil moisture management, permanent biological cover, biodiversity, crop production and the machinery required to farm without disturbing the biological system.
Read Asif Sharif's full founder profile, or his own year-by-year record of five decades in the field.
Why Conventional Agriculture Is Failing — Ecologically, Economically and Nutritionally
That is Pedaver's starting premise, and PQNK is offered as the way out: a mulched bed watered by soil moisture management rather than the calendar, a set of long-held farming myths retested, and outcomes measured in the field rather than in theory.
PQNK moves every field through the same fixed sequence: out of ACI (Ancient Conventional Industrial) degradation, through a Corrective Intervention of hardpan-breaking and raised-bed formation, into a Regenerative Phase where mulch and cover crops build soil biology, and finally into a Sustained Closed Loop State where no external input is needed again.
That sequence is carried out by purpose-built machinery: the SIPP and VIPP no-till planters chief among them, engineered to plant directly through thick mulch without disturbing the soil beneath it.
Our knowledge papers go further, examining the looming convergence of oil and food crises, the neglected potential of Pakistan's agricultural economy, and how ecosystem health changes the value of what a farm produces, from milk to fabric.
